Kate Upton Is 2017 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue’s Cover
Kate Upton notched a hat trick — her third Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover.
On Tuesday night, Jimmy Kimmel revealed on his late-night show that the supermodel would be the cover girl for S.I.‘s 2017 Swimsuit Issue. Upton was on hand to field questions from the talk show host, while the studio audience cheered her on.
This makes three covers for Upton, who was also featured on the cover in 2012 and 2013. If you’re wondering, the record for most SI Swimsuit Issue covers is still held by model Elle Macpherson, who was featured on five (1986-88, ’94, and ’06).
After the announcement, Upton told Kimmel that she was only first notified of her feat yesterday. Apparently, Upton had to spend Valentine’s Day apart from her fiancée, Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander, who had already left to start spring training.
Kimmel also revealed the actual SI Swimsuit Issue cover for the first time—of which there are three, of course—which you can see in the video below.

‘I'm not a toy; I'm a human,’ Upton says, about the way she was treated after landing the Sports Illustrated cover.
Kate Upton definitely brought the heat when she landed the coveted cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2012, but the 21-year-old stunner confessed she was left feeling terrible, instead of basking in her newfound celebrity.
"I felt terrible about myself for a solid month," Upton revealed in the September issue of Elle magazine, which is out on newsstands Aug. 20.

The buxom beauty explains the downside of becoming the object of every
man's affection, as the Sports Illustrated February feature has been the
most anticipated and lucrative buy of the magazine's yearly output for
decades.
"Every single guy I met was either married or about to be married, and I felt like I was their bachelor present or something," she said.

"I'm not a toy; I'm a human. I'm not here to be used. I am a grown woman, and you need to figure your s--t out."
Clearly, she mustered up the confidence to bear the burden again in 2013. The jaw-dropping cover required Upton to venture down to Antarctica in order to shoot the chilling bikini photos.

The feisty model added that some courtesy ought to extend to her
professional environment as well. She's not a "dumb blonde," as some
might think.
"People deal with models like they are children," she said. "They think they can pull one over on you. It's actually funny. I'm always like I'm about to pull something on you, and you're so focused on thinking I'm dumb you're not even going to know."

Elaborating more on her depth, Upton also revealed that she has an
element of faith to her that people don't expect, which she carries in
the form of a cross tattooed on the inside of her finger.
"I was at a photo shoot, and I was wearing a cross necklace that my mom bought me, and somebody made a joke like 'Why are you wearing a cross?'" she tells the mag.

"And then they took [my necklace] away. I was really affected by that. The whole thing made me realize that I do want [a cross] with me, at all times
